Leading Analyst Firm Also Rated KNOVA as "Strong Positive"
in Web Self-Service MarketScope
Cupertino, CA, October 20, 2005 - KNOVA Software (OTC Bulletin
Board: KNVS), a leading provider of service resolution management applications,
today announced that it was listed in the "Visionary" quadrant in the 2005 Magic
Quadrant for Information Access Technology1
issued by Gartner, Inc. This positioning comes on the heels of a "Strong Positive"
rating in Gartner's MarketScope for Web Self-Service, 2H04.2
"We are very pleased with KNOVA's placement in the Visionary Quadrant of Gartner's
Information Access Technology report. We believe our position is indicative of our
leadership in the search market and our commitment to search innovation," commented
Bruce Armstrong, president and CEO of KNOVA Software. "Search is a critical core
technology that stretches across our entire suite of service resolution management
applications. Our ability to auto-classify disparate sources of knowledge, understand
user intent and deliver highly precise answers delivers tremendous value to our
customers."
KNOVA's search applications enable high precision with low total cost of ownership
through three core points of technological differentiation:
- Combining Natural Language Processing, ontological context and self-learning reputation
to drive search results;
- A common model for indexing, managing and classifying knowledge in all its forms,
whether unstructured documents, people, or transactional data; and
-
Seamlessly embedding search and knowledge delivery into the business process and
service resolution workflow.
The report, prepared by Whit Andrews and Rita Knox, research directors at Gartner,
evaluates vendors on the basis of Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute.
According to Gartner, vendors listed in the Visionary Quadrant have a clear vision
of market direction and are focused on preparing for that, but they can still improve
in terms of optimizing service delivery.
